Zimms Organics - Setting New Standards For EVOO

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to share some thoughts I’ve been feeling about the world of CPG (consumer packaged goods)… Being a consumer now is really hard. I know that I’m not the only one overwhelmed daily by content on social media. It’s really difficult to decipher what’s real and what’s fake online.

As a brand owner, it’s also difficult navigating the world of content. UGC firms, influencers and agencies reach out to me daily promising millions of views and conversions that will cost me hundreds or even thousands of dollars. This is usually a huge red flag. As my dad always says, “if it’s too good to be true, it probably is”. After actually having conversations with some of these people and agencies (for educational purposes), I now realize that the majority of ads and videos we see on social media are from people who don’t actually use the products we are being marketed to buy. To me, this feels like false advertising.

It’s annoying to constantly receive emails from these agencies because I would never pay for content like that. It’s against the ethos of why I started this brand. I don’t pay for this type of content because I don’t ever want to devalue Zimms Organics or lead anyone to believe we are making up stories. It’s hard enough being a consumer trying to filter through the noise of fake reviews, paid testimonials and AI… I don’t need to make it even more complicated.

For me, as the founder of Zimms, it’s easier just to be honest and let the product speak for itself. Well, better yet… let you guys, our customers speak for me. I’m blown away at how many people love this olive oil, and how many people have found relief from different ailments using our EVOO. All of our reviews are from real paying customers who took time out of their busy days to write something nice about us. That means a lot to me.

In the olive oil category alone, 70% of olive oil on the shelves is fraudulent. Meaning, what's inside your [insert generic olive oil brand here] bottle could be from spoiled olives, made with filler oils (canola / peanut) and / or doesn't even pass EVOO standards (less than 0.8% oleic acid).

That's why transparency has and always will be at the forefront of this brand. You'll always get me, David Zimmerman, putting my face and story out there in front of you, because there’s nothing to hide. I just wanted to share some things that we do to continue to earn your trust as customers.

  1. We put our harvest date on the bottles so you know how fresh your olive oil is.

  2. We put the polyphenols on the label so you know how potent it is with powerful antioxidants.

  3. We share where your olive oil comes from (Northern or Central California). One farm and one olive varietal per bottle :)

  4. We paint the bottles in an organic matte ink to protect your olive oil from UV that can deteriorate the potency and flavor of the olive oil. This means you can actually recycle our bottles when you’re done (most painted bottles can’t even be recycled because the paint is considered toxic). You can also put flowers in it.

  5. We press our olives within 12 hours of harvesting to ensure freshness.

  6. We never use chemicals or harsh solvents to extract olive oil - just pressure and time.

  7. We filter our olive oil naturally. This is why it takes a little longer to get into your hands. It takes about 6-8 weeks for the sediment to settle to the bottom of our stainless steel vats.

  8. We lab test each varietal (which takes another 3-4 weeks) to ensure our quality standards.

I'm proud that our organic olive farms are in California. Tariffs don't affect us the way they will other brands. I can drive 3-5 hours and go shake the farmers hands. I'm physically close to every step of the Zimms bottling journey so I can be on top of our quality control 🇺🇸

♻️ We work with certified organic family farms in California.

🏭 All of our production line is based in California.

🎨 Our bottles are painted with organic inks and organic UV prints here in Los Angeles.

🔬 All of our EVOO is lab tested for heavy metals and the "do not wants" in your food.

🫒 Our EVOO always passes the EVOO test every year, meaning it has less than 0.8% oleic acid, to legally call olive oil "extra virgin".

🌱 Each bottle is single origin, single varietal, pressed within 24 hours of harvest (usually within 12 hours), filtered naturally and contains over 330mg/kg polyphenols.

📦 Even our boxes are made in California!

That's why we print all of this information on the bottle. Transparency and integrity is of the utmost importance when we live in a world where our food system is contributing to a chronic health epidemic.

This is why Zimms is so important to me. It helped me find some hope after almost dying from internal bleeding related to Crohn's disease. Now I have been free of medication and hospital visits for 8+ years.

💙💙💙
